At the Puglia Boat Show, a journey through sparkling, white, rosé and red wines showcases the diversity of Brindisi’s winemaking heritage.
Appia Wine Road is taking part in SNIM 2026, the 22nd edition of the Puglia Boat Show, held from 22 to 26 October at the Marina di Brindisi, presenting the story of the region through six wines and the wineries behind them.
In Brindisi, the final destination of the ancient Appian Way and a gateway to the Mediterranean, the journey continues from the sea towards the vineyards. The association’s participation in the Boat Show reflects its commitment to bringing nautical tourism and wine tourism closer together, inviting visitors to discover the landscapes, culture and people that shape the area’s identity.
Six wines, different expressions of the same land, carefully selected by the association to represent the region at its best.
The selection opens with Virgilio Pas Dosé Metodo Classico 2022 by Cantine Risveglio. This sparkling wine introduces the themes of time and winemaking technique: the traditional method, involving a second fermentation in the bottle, offers a further perspective on the craftsmanship of the region’s wineries.
The white wine is Galé 2025, Fiano IGT Salento by Tenute Bellamarina. The inclusion of Fiano broadens the narrative beyond red grape varieties, highlighting the role of white wines in Salento’s wine production and the diversity of winemaking interpretations found in this area.
Two rosé wines offer the opportunity to explore different grape varieties. Aurora Cru Scolmafora 2025, Susumaniello IGT Salento by Botrugno, draws attention to a grape variety closely associated with the Brindisi area and its expression as a rosé. Negroamaro Rosato 2025 IGT Salento by Masseria Masciullo complements this offering with one of Salento’s most emblematic grape varieties. Together, the two wines present rosé as a distinctive stylistic choice, capable of expressing different identities.
The red wine selection includes Laenius 2024, Malvasia Nera di Brindisi IGT Salento by Tenute Lu Spada. The grape variety’s name itself reveals its connection to the area, drawing attention to Brindisi’s heritage of indigenous grape varieties and the importance of preserving and promoting it.
Completing the selection is Oltremé Rosso 2021 DOC Brindisi by Tenute Rubino, which introduces the city’s own wine appellation. Its inclusion connects the stories of individual wineries to a shared and recognisable geographical origin.
From the glass to discovering the region
Sparkling, white, rosé and red wines come together in a journey that reflects the diversity of the region. Each wine becomes a starting point for discovering a winery, its winemaking history and a distinctive interpretation of local viticulture.
Through its participation in SNIM 2026, Appia Wine Road invites visitors arriving by sea to continue their journey inland, exploring vineyards, wineries and landscapes along the ancient Appian Way.
