Brindisi, 7 July 2026 – Appia Wine Road presents Sulla Via del Brindisi, its collective 2026 events calendar: a journey across wineries, rural landscapes, wine tastings, music and storytelling, designed to celebrate the connection between wine and the final stretch of the Via Appia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

From July to September, the wineries belonging to the association will open their estates to the public with a series of events, each different in style and content yet united by a shared vision: to tell the story of the Brindisi area through wine, the history of its places, its landscape and its tradition of hospitality.

Sulla Via del Brindisi was created with the aim of connecting contemporary wine culture with the ancient history of the Regina Viarum. The result is a shared programme designed to give shape to a collective narrative of the region, in which each winery contributes its own identity to a broader story.

“With the Sulla Via del Brindisi project,” the member wineries explain, “the association is taking a concrete step towards the goals for which it was founded: bringing wineries together, promoting the local wine heritage and developing a vision of wine tourism capable of weaving together wine, landscape, culture and history. Each event retains the individual character of the winery hosting it, while forming part of a shared project that recognises the Via Appia as a major axis of identity and storytelling.”

The programme will open on Friday, 24 July, with Roots of Stone, Sips of History at Tenute Bellamarina, an event exploring the relationship between historic landscape, wine culture and the memory of the Via Appia in Salento, featuring storytelling, music and a final wine tasting.

On 6 September, Tenute Rubino will host Crossing Giancola, an outdoor experience combining vineyards, nature and wellbeing, conceived as both a physical and symbolic crossing of the Giancola Canal along the Via Appia Traiana, during the height of the grape harvest.

This will be followed on Friday, 11 September, by Light among the Rows of the Appian Way at Tenute Lu Spada, an immersive experience featuring a sunset photography workshop among the vineyards along the Appian Way, dedicated to light and the rural landscape, followed by an aperitif and a tasting of wines and local specialties.

The programme will conclude on Friday, 25 September, with Regina Viarum – Wine, History and Music at Cantine Risveglio, an immersive storytelling dinner inspired by the Via Appia Antica, featuring dishes influenced by the lands crossed by the ancient Roman road, selected wines and live music.

Sulla Via del Brindisi represents the first tangible expression of the association’s work: a project designed to strengthen the positioning and identity of the area through a network of distinctive, coherent experiences that convey to the public the richness of the relationship between wine, landscape and history.

The events are organised individually by the participating wineries and included in the shared Sulla Via del Brindisi calendar, promoted by Appia Wine Road. Reservations can be made directly with each winery.
